How can this be done?Using Video Conferencing to enhance your lessons couldn’t be any simpler. The lessons are divided up into three sessions and can be tailored to suit any Key Stage (with the exception of the Embroidery Machine and Smart Materials, which are aimed at Key Stage 4 upwards). We are able to deliver the V.C. lessons to suit your timetable, however, the order in which the sessions are to be delivered will be as follows: Session 1A 15 to 20 minute tutor led session delivered from the CLC via Video Conferencing, which will provide the pupils with an introduction to the curriculum area, an outline of the learning objectives, how the machinery operates and how to work on your designs within school, providing pupils with the opportunity to ask and answer questions about the subject in hand. Session 2An independent session led by the class teacher within your own school, working on the advice provided by the tutor in session 1 to assist the pupils in working on their own designs. Once the designs are ready, these should be emailed/delivered to the CLC ready for the manufacturing/production process to begin. The timescale of this session is to be left to your discretion and an arrangement for the designs to be manufactured can then be delivered via V.C at a time to suit you. Session 3A final session delivered via Video Conferencing in which your pupils will have the exciting opportunity to see the equipment in action. Pupils will be able to watch their own designs being manufactured. The length of this session will be tailor made to suit the needs of your pupils. Final products will then be available for collection from the CLC. Occasionally, session 1 will be complemented with a short video clip to provide pupils with a greater insight into the topic area being covered. You will be advised of this at the time of booking session 1 and this will be downloadable from our website. Should you wish to take part in our exciting range of Video Conferencing Opportunities, please do not hesitate to contact karen.lackenby@sthelens.org.uk for further details. Alternatively, contact the CLC for more information. |
