Opportunity at St Helens City Learning Centres
Learning Opportunity Title:
I Can Animate Workshop
Learning Opportunity Outline This
animation workshop offers pupils an insight into the process of Stop
motion animation, the technique used to create animations like
'Wallace and Gromit' and 'Creature Comforts'.
'I Can Animate' allows you to work with different video layers, so you
can create a background from Video camera, photos or artwork you have
produced yourself.
Using the Latest Croma Key technology, 'I Can Animate' allows you to
create a virtual set for your characters to live in; whether it be your
school, home or outer-space... the possibilities are endless!
Pupils will write a script, produce a storyboard and develop their characters
before producing a short animation against a green screen using Apples
“iStop Motion” cameras. Once completed pupils will upload
their background, which will replace the green screen creating the virtual
set that their character will live in.
Students will also have the opportunity to create their own soundtrack
and effects for their movie using Garageband technology.
