Before using our facilities we ask Teaching Staff to ensure all pupils
in their care/instruction ARE AWARE OF AND UNDERSTAND THE St
Helens City Learning Centres ICT CODE OF CONDUCT AND ITS IMPLICATIONS
Lessons covered by supply staff or anyone other than the class teacher
MUST NOT take place in the CLC
Teachers MUST NOT leave their class unattended in
the CLC. (In emergencies please ask a member of the CLC staff to remain
with your class)
Teacher Guidelines
Your class must wait quietly at the front entrance of the CLC until
you arrive to accompany them to their room.
Before entering the CLC ensure pupils in your class are not chewing
and remind them that they must not eat or drink in the CLC. All mobile
phones should be switched off before entering the CLC.
Pupils must be closely supervised to their designated Learning Zone.
Remind pupils to maintain the peace and tranquillity of the CLC and
never disturb other users of the Centre.
Pupils must remain in the Learning Zone booked for them for the full
duration of the lesson.
If a pupil has not arrived on time for your lesson, please leave full
details at reception so that arrangements can be made for their admittance.
When the lesson is over and you are ready to leave the Learning Zone
please ensure the room is ready for use by the next class:
Check all pupils have logged off
Check all workstations are neat and tidy and chairs are neatly
under the desks
Check all belongings have been collected by the pupils (including
printed materials)
Ensure air conditioning is switched off
Before leaving the CLC teaching staff must complete the 'Statement
Bank for CLC Usage' form. This must be handed in to reception before
you leave.
St Helens City Learning Centres - User Guidelines
Please Note:
Our computer network is a shared resource, which takes a great deal of
time and effort to maintain – our network must be operational at
all times. By logging on to the CLC network and using our computer equipment
you have given your agreement and understanding that you will abide by
the rules set out in this St Helens City Learning Centres ICT Code of
Conduct.
Unattended workstations with a user logged on will be shut down automatically
Periodic scans of all home directories are made
CLC staff can view a computer screen at any time from anywhere in
the CLC
Chewing gum is strictly prohibited within the City Learning Centre.
Consumption of Food and Drink is strictly prohibited in the Learning Zones.
Never use someone else's user account and never tell anyone your password.
Always make sure you have logged off from your network account when
you leave your computer.
Report accidental breakages, damages on a workstation to a member
of staff immediately.
Never attempt to install/download any programs or change any settings
on the machines.
Do not use obscene or offensive language, or view, send, or display
offensive messages or pictures. If you encounter such material, notify
a member of staff immediately.
When you copy or use other people's words or images state who created
the original or where you found it.
It is expected that all the equipment within the City Learning Centre
is treated with care. Do not ‘tamper’ with any of the City
Learning Centre hardware or network connections and refrain from ‘playing’
with the chairs and disabled desks.
Headphones must only be worn when required as part of your lesson.
Security/Health and Safety at the CLC
Please Note:
Personal belongings left in the City Learning Centres are left at
the owners own risk. The St Helens City Learning Centres accepts no
responsibility for loss or damage to any belongings left in the building
Equipment and excess materials causing dangerous obstruction should
not be left in the City Learning Centre area
The St Helens City Learning Centres operates a No Smoking
Policy
CCTV Cameras/24 hour recording is in operation within the City Learning
Centre
Fire Escape Routes are as follows:
Room 1- The escape from the City Learning Centre
is through the door of the room and then turn left and immediately left
again, down the corridor and out of the rear fire door.
Room 2- The escape from the building is via the door
situated at the back of the room.
Room 3- The escape from the building is via the door
situated at the back of the room.
CZ1,2,3 - The escape from the building is via the
front door of the City Learning Centre.
Users on the Corridor - Should follow the signs to
the nearest fire exit to escape the building.
